Simple circuit to control the LIDAR unit, built using parts ONLY FROM RADIOSHACK!

Here is the first of probably a couple circuits I will post to control the LIDAR motors rotation speed.  The circuit outputs a PWM wave that you can change by adjusting the potentiometer.  All parts were purchased at RadioShack and I have noted the RadioShack part number next to each symbol.  The circuit works very well running off of a 3 cell LiPo pack I used for RC planes/helis.  It is a 11.1V 2200mAh pack.

Be aware that the speed will change as voltage changes so for this circuit the voltage should be regulated going in.  The RPM held +/- 2 RPM or better over five minutes when testing off of a battery pack that was NOT regulated.  Very good results for a few bucks in parts!
